It's a passage about some knowledge about design mold structure.


Injection mold is an important process that can be devide into two parts, movable mold and fixed mold.

The parts of injection mold can be divided into different roles:

  • Formtion spare part( cavity, core,and other parts involved in forming plastic product.)
  • Casting system( hot runner and cold runner), include main runner, branch runner, cold-slug well, gate( side gate, fan gate, banana gate, pin-point gate and sprue gate,etc)
  • Guide, positioned the structure( guide pin, guide bush; stripper plate guide pin, stripper plate bush, accurate alignment, etc)
  • Mold release ejection and reset process( Ejection and double ejection, delay ejection,push bar, stripper plate,ejector sleeve: reset,reset spring,etc)
  • Undercut molding or side-core pulling( slide and lifter)
  • Temperature control system (cooling channel, heating device, etc.)
  • Mold venting structure( parting line, various gaps, set up special grooves or inserts, etc)
  • Other else(Like,support pillar, bumper block, hydraulic cylinder, terminal mounting boxof hot runner, lock and reset process,etc.) 
  • Injection mold parts are divided into three categories:

    1. Mold plate( standard mold base normally order from LKM, FUTABA, HASCO, DME, If the customer needs special we will make or customize.)
    2. Standard component (processing after ordering)
    3. Molding parts, cavity, core, slide lifter and other parts involved in forming plastic product.

     

    Injection mold can be devided by the structure:

    • Two-plate mold( single parting line) edge gate
    • Three-plate mold( double parting line)pin-point gate
    • Hot runner
    • Mold with special structure( demold with force, mold with insert and screw shread, etc.)       
    • Relationship between molds and injection machines:

      • Casting quantity: volunm or quality; casting system and theproduct sum is less than 80% of the casting quantity.
      • Mold locking force: the mold locking force of injection machine is greater than the force of the mold to open the parting
      • Injection pressure: the injection pressure of injection machine is greater than forming the part need)
      • Check the size of mold(first, mold thickness, second, length and width, third sprue bush,  nozzleR and center line)
      • Check the process of opening mold ( wide enough to take out the product and gate)
      • Check the ejection( ejector force, ejection stroke, the quantity of knock out hole, diameter and position)
