Progressive Components has released a new component certification program, the company officials said, to provide supplier component procurement visibility and mold specification compliance validation.When a new tool program starts, the component specification is determined and is expected to be followed. But according to Progressive Components, mold buyers often do not receive the specified parts. This may cause component failure.With the new component certification program, the mold buyer gets a unique ID, "ID" is included in each bill of material, and then needs to be included in each purchase order, as well as the tool ID.
"We already have customers coming to China to buy hundreds of molds each year, but we can not determine whether they have received the components listed in the bill of materials," said Peter Friddle, vice president of Progressive Components.
